Daystar was founded in 1997 and produced parts for off road vehicles, dirt bikes and trucks.  In 2000 they became certified ISO 9001 and they were certified again in 2008.  This is a world recognized certification.  What this means to you is that from inception of the part, through all steps of it being made and shipped to you, every step is verified independently and documented independently to ensure that your expectations are always exceeded. 

Bushings

 The simple definition of a bushing is that it is lining made from metal for a hole that encloses a shaft that revolves.  Now, what this does for your vehicle is to reduce the amount of friction caused by the shaft revolving, which reduces the heat caused by the friction.

Daystar Leveling Kits

In 1995 Daystar was very innovative and was the first company to mass produce and market leveling kits.  Since then, they have remained at the top of their field by retaining top notch designers and engineers and using the most innovative technology around to make sure that when you purchase a Daystar leveling kit, not only are you getting your money’s worth, but you are also getting the best leveling kit money can buy.

What is a leveling kit?

You know how when you purchase a truck form the dealer and it looks like the nose of the truck is closer to the ground than the back of the truck?  That is what a leveling kit is.  It makes the truck look level.  It can also give about 2” of added lift so that you can put on slightly larger wheels and tires if that is your bliss.

What does the kit include?

Daystar leveling kits only include the components necessary to lift the front end of your truck to make it level with the rear end.  These parts include but are not limited to suspension strut spacers, torsion keys and extended shock brackets.

Features

Some of the features of the leveling kits are that they are easy to install as they are top mounted and also because they are front lift only.  They give the capability of adding larger wheels and tires to your ride without giving up the quality of the ride or the capabilities of carrying large loads.  They are made from progressive polyurethane that is of a very high density type.  Finally, they require no tools to install. 

How they work

Suspension

Basically a suspension system is the part of a vehicle that helps the tires maintain traction with the road while allowing the steering system to work and keeping the passengers ride smooth all at the same time. 

Basic Suspension Kit Parts

All that the suspension system does is not done with just one part.  There are many and if even one is not working properly, it could throw your entire vehicle out of whack.  I will not go into detail about each and every part here, but I will give an overview of the most basic but important parts of a suspension system.  First you have the springs.  Coil springs are the most common type but leaf springs are also used.  Torsion bars come next.  Then you have the air springs.  Next is something called a sprung or unsprung mass.  Dampers are utilized as well.  The shock absorbers are part of the dampening structure.  Struts are used in this structure as well.  Anti-sway bars round out the list of basic parts of a suspension.  As stated before, this is a basic breakdown of the parts and not a complete list.

Features

Keep in mind that Daystar suspension systems are after-market kits.  One feature is that these can come in either simple kits, having basic parts or super kits which have everything needed to replace or upgrade the entire truck’s body mounts and suspension.  By doing this, your vehicle’s performance and handling will vastly improve.  Everything is included for rebuilding or upgrading one vehicle and all parts are both grime and fluid resistant. 

Installation

If you are a grease monkey or completely comfortable doing your own repair work on your vehicle or even if you just want to see if you can do it yourself, then go ahead.  This is a fairly simple install.  It can be a bit daunting though if you are not a part friendly type of person.  If that describes you, then by all means, take the vehicle to someone who knows what they are doing and have them do it for you.

Process

All Daystar products have a process that they go through with the same basic steps.  First the product is thought of and then visually conceptualized by draw schematics of what the product should look like, dimensions and the like.  Then the product is actually constructed.  Once it is constructed, it goes through rigorous testing to make sure that it will take anything you throw at it and still come back for more.  If it fails the testing, it’s back to the drawing board.  If it passes, then the product gets even more testing and then still has to be approved by the board and then it will be rolled out to you.

Installation

Daystar Lift Kits

Types of Lift Kits

There are basically two types of lift kits.  One is the suspension lift kit which raises the truck significantly allowing for very large wheels and tires.  This type of kit also decreases the stability of your ride, not only in steering control, but it also raises the truck so far off of its center of gravity that it greatly increases the chances of the truck flipping while turning a sharp corner. 

The other type of lift kit is a body lift.  This is the type of kit that Daystar produces and sells to the public.  This type of kit only raises the body of the truck to a maximum of 4” above factory height.  By only using a body lift, you get a bit of extra clearance in case you want larger wheels and tires. 

Daystar sells these kits alone or as a combo kit along with the leveling kit so that you can level and lift your truck at the same time.  With the combo kit you can gain a total of 5 extra inches for your vehicle!

Features
